Violets nature art watercolor wood pendant necklace is a hand painted botanical spring flower illustration on watercolor paper, glued on a sliver of natural wood sealed with lacquer and handcrafted with a wire and copper wire swirly hook. A natural black leather cord is fashioned into a 24 inch length with a wood seed on each end. This is my original artwork and a one of a kind piece of nature jewelry.

Looking for something fun to wear that will make people stop and ask where did you find that it is so cute? I see a person who is a bit artsy, eclectic and loves the outdoors wearing this. A women who wants to make her own statement.

Necklace measures: 24 inch long
Pendant measures: 2.25 x 1.5 inch and is 1/8 inch thick.

I watched Long Island Medium today and if you like that sort of thing it is a great show to watch. Teresa is a ball of refreshing energy and a gorgeous soul doing amazing work for many people. This women she read was in the hot dog place and was a singer entertainer. Her mother had passed and Teresa told her to keep on going and believe in her work. I think it was the way the words flowed but it felt as if my own mother was telling me to keep going and it will happen. Tears streamed down my face and I felt it in my heart space knowing these words were from my mom. Sometimes though you may think it has not a thing to do with you a message can be heard if you stay open. Whether it is from a dear loved one or from your heart center it is still a message.

Must watch.

Furthermore no matter what you do in this world if you do not do your absolute first-rate version of your true self you are doing your self a disservice. When you feel beaten or tired because things are not turning out the way you thought keep going. There are people and loved ones all around you pulling for you. Follow your souls path and nothing will stop you from being a first-rate version of your true gorgeous epic self.

Decorating painted furniture with watercolors.

Have you ever considered using watercolors on painted furniture? I know it sounds crazy watercolors? Yes you can use watercolor paints and make them durable. Let me show you how.

First you have to prime the work with gesso or another water based primer (oil primers do not work). Allow the primer to set up for a day. Take a sand paper (180 grit or finer) and gently go over the entire surface. I like to used gouache and watercolor paints. For this tray I decided to go with a watercolor nebula effect.

I chose the colors I wanted to use and started with the bottom corners of the tray applying color. Working quickly I covered the bottom area and the sides of the frame with patterns of color. I let the paint set for a short time and then (here comes the fun part) I took a clean brush dipped it in clean water and splattered the painted areas. The paint colors started to meld into each other. A side note do not add too much water it is better to do this in stages. The sides I found the watercolors ran down into the bottom. This is a time consuming process because you have to allow drying time in between each application.

I wanted more depth to the colors and added splashes of color to my wet brush. The splashes of color hit the sides of the tray. I wanted the sides to melt away from the bottom so I used a rag and pulled the color away.

The back of the sides are finished in the same way as the front. Now it is looking like a nebula but it needs something else? What? Then I saw an image of a nebula and I saw golds and silvers inside this wonderful image. On the sides I added gold and silver gilded cream paints. Gently rubbing the surface until I got the effect I wanted.

Allow everything to set up and thoroughly dry. Now you can apply a clear oil based varnish or lacquer with a brush or spray. It is very important you use an oil based product. The oil based product even brushed will not disturb the watercolor paints. Apply several coats and I finished this tray off with a cork backing.

Summertime berries for farmhouse cottage kitchens.

I have two or three great painted work centering around summertime fruit and berries. I love to use painted work to highlight the seasons. When I think of summer I think strawberries blackberries and bowls full of cherries. Fresh picked from farmhouse vines trees and gardens and very cottage chic for today’s fun eclectic designers. Painted Farmhouse Bowl Wooden Maple Decorative with Blackberries 9 inch

A farmhouse decorative wooden bowl is hand painted. I took a turned unfinished wooden maple bowl, painted it a soft white and hand painted a beautiful detailed vine of blackberries strewn across its surface. It has a low luster sheen.

Mainly used for decorative purposes but perfectly OK for apples or nuts. Can be sponged clean. A very useful bowl and can go in any room.

Approximately 9″ in diameter and 3″ high.

I love strawberries and don’t my strawberries remind you of warm sunny days ice cream and strawberry shortcake. I bought some strawberries at the market the other day and while washing them decided to take a few to paint. Nice on cold winter days or hot summer days hanging in you cottage farmhouse kitchen porch or loft for a touch of whimsy.

Painted Vintage Furnishing Metal Bowl Red Cherries Checker Board Farmhouse Cottage Chic Decor

Painted vintage metal bowl furnishing with red cherries and checker board pattern in black and white on a black painted farmhouse cottage chic metal vintage sifter. The vintage metal sifter is primed and then painted black and bright red cherries decorate the outside with a black and white checkerboard around the bottom rim. This is the old way people used to sift their flour, imagine that.

Use it as a fruit bowl but I think it is great to hold a potted plant or soaps or candles or bills notes or keys. The uses are as many as you can think.

It is sealed with a lacquer.

It measures 8″ in diameter, 3.5″ high and has a 4″handle.
The bottom is 4.5″ wide.

Botanical painted nature box with garden flowers, herbs, and a bird sitting on top of a thistle is custom made cottage furniture for storage by Laurie Rohner. The top is colorful assortment of wildflowers and garden flowers, coneflowers, larkspur, flax, thistle, Queen Anne lace and a sweet goldfinch sits munching on his favorite food, thistle seeds.

This is a custom made hinged wood box with combined high quality furniture grade birch plywood and clear pine. The inside is stained a honey color with a taupe gray for the outside base. The top is a soft white with a frame rubbed with a bit of color.
